Struggling With Keyword Research?

For many marketers, doing PPC (Pay Per Click) campaigns is a daunting and tedious task. It’s like finding a needle in a haystack of competition. After nearly a year of avoiding PPC and only using social media to drive traffic, I finally decided to face my Goliath and “take’ em down”.

The result?

After a few hours of playing around with a few basic free tools and $7 of test money, I learned very quickly that my Goliath of a challenge was really not as big of a deal as I thought.

What I found was a simple, wise investment of my time and money, and a proven massive traffic-driving machine. Below is a video I made to help you discover the basics of keyword “research” (sounds so scientific and complex doesn’t it?).

Step-by Step:

Go to Google and search for the free Google keyword research tool

You want to start off by looking at the very MAIN keyword that you are targeting or that you have in mind.

Type in your keyword.

What you will see is all the keywords that people are searching. When you go through all the keywords you want to look at the ones that are relevant and related to your main keyword. Not all of these will fit what you’re targeting. Sometimes keywords are very general. You don’t want to bid on these because you’re not going to get very targeted viewers.

For example, if you were to search for the word “crafts”, you’re not going to get the target audience you want and you’ll be wasting clicks on people who aren’t looking for you.

Go through these keywords and sift through the ones that are related to what you are offering. Make sure you take the time and look through these keyword combinations and add them to your list.

Once you click on the ones you want, you can go ahead and press download so you can compile your list. Now you have your list of keywords that we want to work on.

Go to Word Pot and do the same thing.

Copy and paste and add the ones that you see relevant to your notepad list.

You can also use Word Tracker, another free tool for you.

Go there now. And if you see ones you like, you do the same thing and add it to your list.

Do this again and again with the tools I’ve provided for you in the video.

After you have all your keywords, you want to go back to your list and check out the most relevant keywords that relate to your target and dig deeper for more combinations of that keyword.

Go into Word Tracker and look for a relevant keyword. Click on it and see what you get.

Once you click on it you see that it diggs deeper into keywords that have those word combinations in them.

Now you have more keywords to add to your list.

Try this using the free Google tool and see if you can dig deeper into these combinations. Once you have all the keywords you want on your list, go through it one more time and sift through it for irrelevant ones that got through.

Once you have a compiled list from the different tools, you want to clean your list of duplicates, odd characters, bad words, etc. Chances are you’re going to have some duplicates so you’re going to want to make sure you don’t have any.

You can use this free tool (browser tool) or this tool (PC download). You’ll be saving yourself a lot of time using this than sifting through your list manually.

Copy and paste your list on this tool to scrub it of duplicates.

Once you have this list of clean, targeted keywords, you can plug them into your marketing campaigns, whether it be for PPC campaigns or SEO strategies.

As a reminder, this is basic keyword research. There are plenty of tools out there that you can use to help you with your research, but when you’re starting out, FREE proves to be VERY helpful.

Awesome Song…What Is It’s Real Meaning?

My best friend just told me about this song and said that it reminded him of me. My first impression was like, “cool, let me listen to this”. Well, I LOVE the music and the beat especially. It was hard trying to stop myself from dancing in my seat. The only thing is, I have an idea of what the song is about, but I’m thinking there’s a deeper meaning to it? I’d love to hear your thoughts about this one…

Today’s “totally MLM” topic of the day is about the effects of Attraction Marketing and why I strongly believe that it’s the best approach to grow your business. Whether you have a small business looking for new customers or if you’re an owner of a home business looking for new affiliates, in my opinion, Attraction Marketing is bar none, the best and fastest way to grow a successful business.

Let me tell you why. When I first got online, I was failing miserably with a home business opportunity. I tried so hard to market to my friends and family like I was told to do, and I passed out all the marketing supplies everywhere I went. I even went as far as buying leads! After all that hard work, I managed to make about $300 in 3 months, but I realized I spent way over that in marketing supplies and leads.

I’d consider that a failure wouldn’t you agree?

So that’s why I searched online. In my opinion, the Internet is the greatest marketing tool on Earth! And I not only learned and mastered all the tricks the ‘gurus’ were using, but I also mastered how to use Attraction Marketing to my advantage to attract like-minded, successful, and very genuine people to my business.

It’s really crazy how I consider many of these people some of my closest and dearest friends yet I’ve never met them face- to face. It’s weird I know, but when you start marketing online and start a community of people who share your passion and drive and continuously motivate and inspire you, and would never tell you that you can’t “make it”, you can’t help but respect and admire them like you’ve been friends all your life.

THAT is the effect of Attraction Marketing. Can you imagine how successful you will be if you can attract people like THAT to your business? People you don’t have to convince, or persuade because they already know the rules of the game. They already share your mindset and are already working towards a common goal.

This is what I have managed to do in such short time. I’ve managed to go from newbie network marketer hassling my friends and family to leading 3 successful home businesses with partners from around the globe while leading a successful coaching program…because YES, people DO hunt me down to learn my secrets. And it all started with the basics of attraction marketing.

Branding is often dismissed as something distant or even unattainable to small business owners, especially those new to business. Well, guess what? Nothing could be further from the truth. The less money you have to spend on advertising, the more important branding is.

One of the reasons so many entrepreneurs dismiss branding is because they feel that they have to spend thousands of dollars on ads or hyped up websites. Generally, when people think of brand, they think Coke or Pepsi.

The kind of branding I’m talking about doesn’t require you buying billboard space or running expensive commercial ad campaigns.

Let’s go back for a second and look at why people join other people in business. It’s really quite simple.

People join and buy from people they like and trust.

It’s time to start thinking of the word, “brand” as the desire that you instill in prospects to do business with you. It’s about leading your prospect into a story that compels them to partner up with you or buy from you over and over again.

Branding is an endless seduction and constant relationship building with your prospects. As a small business owner, you have to find new ways to connect with your prospects constantly!

So how do I suggest you build your brand without spending thousands of dollars on advertising?

For starters, you can start with YOU. You have to find creative ways to share YOUR story. Sharing your story allows your prospect to connect and resonate with you.

Let’s face it, people are more inclined to buy from you or join you in business if they know who YOU are and if they feel you can help them get what THEY want.

You have to constantly build your brand by educating your prospects and providing value that they can use to HELP them get what they want.

If you focus on giving value first and promotion second, then you will constantly be building your brand in your prospects eyes. They’ll start to see you more as a leader, an expert, someone who has the answers, rather than someone trying to pitch a business opportunity or sell a product.

You can definitely build your brand without spending a dime on traditional advertising. Get to know your prospects, identify their WHY, create your story around that WHY, provide true value and focus on giving your prospects what they want. In turn, you’ll set yourself up to getting everything you want.

IS Everything Amazing Yet Nobody Is Happy?

The holiday fever is here and it’s nearing time to wrap up this year. Economically, 2008 was pretty tough for many people and the road to rebuilding is going to be a long and steady process.

One of my good friends sent me this funny (but true) video that just made me laugh so hard, but more importantly, made me stop and think about how true the message of this video is.

Isn’t it so true? We’ve got so much at our fingertips, so much more power and opportunity than the greatest Pharaohs that ever lived… EVER had!

Think about it.

I would much rather be who I am today than ANY king from history.

We LITERALLY have access to the WORLD at our fingertips, yet we still manage to find ourselves complaining about the smallest things in life.

As you get ready to close this 2008, try to forget for just 1 second, about how bad things are.

Everything IS amazing.

Plan to bring in the New Year with a new and clearer vision of what you REALLY want, and find a way to leverage what you have at your fingertips i.e. TECHNOLOGY.

If you really want to create positive change in your life, start running now and bring in the New Year at a full sprint! Go into it with a little more passion, a little more love, a little more commitment to your goals, and a little less doubt and fear.

Blogging For Branding And Capturing Leads

If you’re building your network marketing/ direct sales business online, you’re most likely aware that you need to be building your OWN list of highly targeted leads by creating a specifically designed web page called a lead capture page or a squeeze page.

You also know that branding YOU is more important than selling your business or opportunity. In this industry, people are more inclined to partner with others they like and trust. People join people! It’s very important to understand this concept of branding yourself in FRONT of your business.

So what if you don’t have the money to spend on hiring web designers to create your capture pages or branding pages?

After months of trial and error and constant testing and re-testng, there has been a FREE tool that I have used that has been able to accomplish the task of capturing leads and branding.

You have probably already figured it out (judging from the title). I’m talking about creating your own blog and using it to capture those highly targeted leads AND brand you at the same time.
