A Simple Exercise To Set Your Goals In A Way That Let’s Your Measure Your Success…

by Angelito on May 5, 2011

A couple of weeks ago, I posted a topic called, “Why Most Fail With Goal Setting…Is This You?” It explained why many people who set goals never accomplish the higher and more complex ones they set for themselves.

I explained that the reason many people who fail at achieving goals is because they set them for the sake of setting them. They forget to attach an emotional conviction to WHY a particular goal needs to be met.

It’s not because they’re lazy or because they lack resources. If you have a deep enough, compelling enough, burning desire to why you must absolutely accomplish a particular goal, then there will be nothing that stops you from doing that.

Once you have that burning desire and have built up your list of reasons why, then this post will be a huge asset in helping you materialize your goals and measure your success. This simple goal setting exercise that I am about to share with you is what I use on a daily basis, and has helped me immensely in checking off my list of huge goals.

Here’s what you will need:

1. Knowledge of Google Docs (not required, but very helpful)
2. A quiet place where you can be left without distraction for at least an hour. ( no Facebook, no cell phones, no checking emails)
3. Your imagination and focus.

Once you have these 3 tools in place, watch the video above to learn how you can write out yours goals in a way that lets you pin point your most important goals (the goals that will have the most impact on your life today) and be able to measure your success on a daily basis!

Enjoy!

Thanks for sharing this great tip with us Angelito!

I am in the process of trying to figure out what method/strategy (or in your case – exercise) to use when creating my life plan. This is something I haven’t yet heard of. Yes, everyone will have to figure out what works best for them…I’ll give this a try :-)

LOVE Tony Robbins! He is THE man!! haha As far as personal development stuff goes, that in my opinion one of the easiest (if not THE easiest) things to add in our daily to-do lists. I always have an audio ready for me when I’m on the road or even just for the time when I’m cleaning around the house or washing clothes. So important to put those good thoughts in our heads.

There’s no denying that when those that choose NOT to add PD in their lives it affects their thoughts thus effecting their actions.

Thanks again for sharing this powerful tip with us!
